Shop plans, sized to your shop

Build the shop around your tools.

Benchside designs workbenches, saw stations, wall storage and tool chests around your saw, your walls and your height. Then it hands you the cut list, the cutting diagrams, a printable build plan and the CNC files.

No account to design. Plans are bought once, per piece or per shop. No subscription.

  2. Fit it to your shopType in your saw's measurements, your wall, your bench height. Everything redraws as you go.
  3. Build itBuy the plan for the pieces you're making and print it, take it to the lumber yard, or send it to the CNC.

Built around your saw

Measured to your tools, not someone else's.

Most plans are drawn around one saw. Benchside asks for yours: its base, its table height, its fence rails. The station is built so the table comes out dead flush with the wings.

  • Table saw, miter saw, flip-top cart, router table and outfeed, each sized from your tool
  • The saw shelf rides on leveling bolts, so the last 1/16" is a turn of a wrench
  • Drawers, a shelf, or a parking bay for a rolling chest under each wing
Benchside's table saw station page: the 3D station with your saw set flush in it, and the saw's measurements down the side.

Your walls, to scale

Plan the whole shop, wall by wall.

Lay out each wall with its windows, doors and panels, then line pieces up along it. Carts park under benches, cabinets hang at the same height, and anything that won't fit gets flagged before you cut.

  • Shop standards: one bench height, depth and module for every piece
  • The whole shop's materials counted and laid out together, so offcuts get used
  • Share a link to a copy of your shop with anyone

Questions

Good to know

Do I need an account?

Not to design. Everything you make is kept in your browser. Sign in (free, with an email link, no password) to keep your shops on every device, share links and buy plans.

What happens if I change a piece after buying its plan?

Nothing you need to do: the plan follows the piece. Resize it, change the materials, add drawers, and the cut list, diagrams and build plan update and stay unlocked. Changing it into a different kind of piece (a bench into a saw station) is a new plan.

Will it work with my saw?

You type in your saw's measurements, so it's built around yours. Measure the base, the table and the height from the base to the table with the stand off; the help next to each box says how.

Can I build it with what I already have?

Yes. Pick the stock for every part: plywood, Baltic birch, MDF, OSB, 2x4s or 2x6s, or add your own with its real thickness and price. The joinery and part sizes follow the stock you pick.

Do I need a CNC?

No. Everything is laid out for a table saw, a circular saw and a drill, with a router or dado stack where there are grooves. The CNC files are there if you have one.

Can I sell what I build?

Yes. What you build from a plan is yours to use, sell or install. The plans themselves are for you, not for passing on; see the terms.

What if a plan doesn't work for me?
